Dear supporters of the “The BE” and those searching for a community that will believe in you, love you, and encourage your dreams,
Several years ago I lost a dear friend, an accomplished dentist, a wife, a mother, a daughter, and a bright light in our community. The creation of this event was stirring in my soul before we lost Liz, but the stir became a deep yearning when I realized how precious we all are, how interconnected and how little control we have over our tomorrows. Please join us at this 8th annual BE event. Please help us to fill the seats with women and men who need encouragement, with leaders who lead with love, with community impactors, and with our youth — let’s show the lakeshore and the world what it looks like to empower each other and go back to “The Original Download” with the knowing that we are meant to live at our highest potential and that we are enough just as we stand.

This Year Has Been the Year
This year has been the year where the working mother has fought harder than any other year to hang on to the years of work for equal pay and equal opportunity in the workplace. According to Hired.com, the wage gap is widening in 2020. 63% of men earn higher salaries...
This is The Year to Begin Again
This is so the year to begin again. In the beginning of the pandemic, I stopped planning. I released control and made the decision that I was done with any more than what was happening in the next 24 hours. I committed to myself that when things got unreasonably...
This Year I Tried to Grow a Garden
This year I tried to grow a garden. There is something so amazing about the idea of a seed becoming something that we can actually put in our bodies to nourish us. I ordered organic soil, I tilled and mulched and planted, and then with deep amazement very little grew....
There is Our Perception and Then There is Reality
There is our perception and then there is reality. This photo of my son Jack is the perfect example. There is another one where he is sitting perfectly in my lap, hands crossed all Glamour Shots, but this is the one I put on social media. This is the truth of...
